About our printing/publishing
Each image is an incremental
development. Multiple iterations of
sketches, photos, and digitizing
produce the "bon a tier" -- this "good
for printing" typically is a product of the
artist in conjunction with a print shop.
However, DA Call provides the art
image and the print image in her own
art & publishing studio. With the
flexibility of technology, each edition of
the chapbook or printed images can
take on different print nuances as the
illustrator's critical eye is always
striving for mastery. Only a few of the
Old Masters i.e. Rembrandt & Durer
also had their own printing presses
and continually worked their images for
each successive printing.
From time to time, certain illustrations
from the chapbooks are chosen for
artist trading cards, note cards, and
artist proofs for framing. Please visit
these items at the on-line store.
